Can I return my AT&T equipment to an AT&T store? ›

Third-party cell phone dealers, known as “authorized retailers,” look the same as corporate- run stores, but behind the logo there are substantial differences in training, compensation and incentive pay, all of which can lead to worse outcomes for customers and employees.

You may return your device in-store or request a prepaid mailing kit to send us your trade-in. We'll update you on your trade-in status via email and text. Or check your status online.

Just take your unboxed equipment and nine-digit account number to a company-owned FedEx Office Pack and Ship or The UPS Store. Don't know your account number? Look on your bill or learn how to find it now. FedEx Office® Pack and Ship or The UPS Store® will send your equipment back to us at no charge to you.

If you placed your order online and picked up in store, you must return to a company-owned retail store to have the restocking fee waived.

The AT&T Trade-in program allows you to trade in qualifying cell phones to receive credit for the cell phone's value, or you may be eligible for promotional bill credits as part of an AT&T device offer.

Can you trade in a cracked phone at AT&T? Yes, AT&T accepts cracked and broken phones. However, a broken phone will significantly decrease the value of your device. If AT&T determines your phone is in worse condition than stated, you will receive a revised offer.

AT&T Returns

If the phone or device you purchased does not meet your expectations, return it by mail within 14 days from the date the equipment was shipped. Refunds are applied using the original payment method. Any rebate associated with returned equipment is voided.

You can exchange a phone or device one time within 30 days of the shipment date. A restocking fee of up to $55 for devices, not including tablets or iPads, may apply except where prohibited.
